I am not certain of the status of the issue and the patches in '08 as opposed to '03, so I would recommend just checking that out thoroughly before applying any hotfixes/patches. JaS @Laura:

I can't believe it... I have been having this problem ever since we installed a 2008 server. Microsoft thought it was a kerberos problem and we reset the password between the two servers. These PC's network connectivity is non-existent or intermittent. We've been attributing the problem to NIC failures, although I've tried to contact Broadcom (no help there), and our solution thus far has been to replace several motherboards.
